A  message from the County Captain 2012

 Dear Lady Golfer,

As we look forward to the warm days and light nights and a new partnership from the merger, what will 2012 hold? 2011 was another amazing year for our County Team making history by successfully winning the South Midlands Regional Championship 2 years in a row, that’s never been done before in our 30+ year history! As you flick through these pages of our competitions and decide which competition you enter, please spare a thought for the people that run the association. They work hard to provide some great golf for you on some good courses for less than a green fee, we have some lovely courses in our county and we do appreciate their support in allowing us to play our golf, so go on, come and part of one of the best little counties in England.

Oh, did I mention that we are the 6th best county in England as far as our first team are concerned? Baring in mind that there are 35 counties in England, 32 of which have more clubs than we do, which demonstrates what a great county we are! When I listen to our delegates make their reports at the November meeting, it made me realise why we are in such a good position. We have a great golfing community in Northamptonshire and long may those volunteers come forward and do what they do, because without them we would not be the strong county that we are! I salute you past and present.

May all your drives be straight, and putts be few!

Ros Cuthbert
